British Cycling is a key supporter of the Ride2Raise campaign to get more people taking part in charity cycle events, and they support our Charity Hero Awards, made to individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to charity.
British Cycling is the National Governing Body for cycling in Great Britain. They manage all elite aspects of the sport including events and performances at GB level and govern the development of cycle sport in England. In particular, they aim to inspire participation in cycling as a sport, recreation and sustainable transport through achieving worldwide success.
We believe the benefits of British Cycling membership are so good that anyone riding a bike should consider it. As you can see, we’re not the only ones…
“With your help British Cycling is providing support to all cyclists, however they ride. That could mean building new cycling facilities, putting on more cycling events or looking after the day to day needs of members who ride to work, ride to race, or just ride for the fun of it. Being a member of British Cycling makes you one of the team!”
Sir Chris Hoy MBE.
Multiple World & Olympic Champion
There are essentially two types of British Cycling membership:
Ride membership is for commuters, sportive riders and other riders who do not race. It’s an ideal alternative to Race membership, providing lots of money saving offers and peace-of-mind liability cover in the event of an accident where you are to blame. Plus there’s free legal support in case you’re involved in an accident which is not your fault.
Race membership is for competitive cyclists. There are three levels depending on the benefits you require, plus the optional Full Racing Licence for those taking part in higher level events. Race members get unbeatable retail discounts, access to expert coaching advice and peace of mind legal and insurance protection in the event of an accident.
You can visit the British Cycling website for full details of the membership packages available. See HERE.
